A handwoven Swedish rölakan rug by Anna-Greta Sjöqvist (1908–1993). Born in Malmö, Sjöqvist established her own weaving workshop in Sösdala, where she employed twelve weavers during the 1950s and 1960s. Her work reflects the marriage of traditional Swedish weaving techniques and modern geometric design. This example, with its dusty palette and geometric composition, is characteristic of the Scandinavian textile tradition of the period. Signed “AGS” in the weave.
